1. The standard we use
We designed and built this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Automated testing finds no failures, but the site has not had an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim formal conformance with any WCAG level. We will update this statement if an audit changes that position.
2. What we have done
- Structure. Every page has landmarks, a logical heading order, and native links and buttons.
- Keyboard. A skip link comes first on every page, focus is always visible, and the mobile menu opens and closes from the keyboard (Escape closes it).
- Contrast. Text meets the AA contrast ratios against its background. The decorative colour gradients never carry information.
- Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the animations are switched off and every page appears complete. You can also stop them with the “Pause motion” button at the top of the homepage and in the footer of every page.
- Reflow. Layouts adapt from small phone widths upwards without horizontal scrolling, and text can be resized.
- Text alternatives. Logos have text equivalents, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- No time limits. Nothing on the site times out, plays sound or plays video.
3. How we tested
On 8 October 2026 we tested every page at desktop and mobile widths with the axe-core engine, using its WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules and its best-practice rules. It reported no failures.
We also tabbed through every page to check that each link and button can be reached and shows a visible focus indicator, and checked that the site honours the reduced-motion preference. We have not tested with a full range of screen readers, voice control or magnification software, so there may be barriers we have not found.
4. Known limitations
- The booking form. “Book a 15-minute chat” opens a form provided by Surgerly, which runs in a frame from
app.surgerly.co.uk. It was not part of the testing above. If it does not work for you, email us instead. - Animated illustrations. The portal illustration on the homepage changes colour and logo every few seconds. It is decorative, and what it shows is described in the text beside it. Use “Pause motion” or your reduced-motion setting to stop it.
- Content that fades in. In some browsers, sections fade in as you scroll. The content is always in the page and available to assistive technology; the effect is switched off when you ask for reduced motion.
5. Tell us about a problem
If you cannot use part of this site, or need its content in another format, email enquiries@prosperly.co.uk. It helps to tell us the page you were on, what you expected to happen and what happened instead, and the browser, device and any assistive technology you use, if you are happy to share it.
We will look into it and tell you what we can do, including a reasonable alternative while we fix it. Please do not include patient-identifiable information in your email.
6. Technical information
The site is built with HTML, CSS and SVG, with a small amount of JavaScript. Everything works without JavaScript except the inline booking form: without it, “Choose a time” opens the form on its own page instead.
This statement was prepared by self-evaluation. We review it when the site changes materially, after any formal testing, or when feedback shows a limitation that belongs here.
